If you think it gets easier, think again. But success is success.
Some weeks feel like a whirlwind of success and family joy, and this was one of them. I not only cherished valuable time with my family but also advanced to the second round of an important job interview. However, these highs are often interspersed with moments of exhaustion and wavering motivation, highlighting the complex dance between energy, rest, and commitment.
The Flow of Days
Each day carries the potential for achievement, yet it’s crucial to remember that not seizing every opportunity isn’t a failure. The challenge arises when several days pass filled with inertia, leading to self-criticism that can spiral into further demotivation. Although the news of progressing in my interview should have spurred increased vigor, paradoxically, it seemed to deflate my drive instead. Time continues to march on, and with it, the days slip by, each tick of the clock a reminder of what could have been done.
Moderating Effort
Losing a job is a profound emotional journey, one that has fortunately steered me towards new prospects rather than despair. The trick, I’ve found, is not to oscillate between extremes of effort but to maintain a steady, sustainable pace. Ironically, while advocating for moderation, I find myself grappling with the physical demands of resuming exercise, a reminder that even a measured approach can be taxing.
Confronting the Wall
Often, when faced with obstacles, my instinct has been to seek an easier route—to find a ladder over the wall rather than breaking through it. But this time, the approach needs to be different. The wall must come down. Perhaps the key lies in redefining what success means to me. Maybe it’s not about demolishing barriers but recognizing them as mere illusions, as insubstantial as cardboard, a mental construct that I have the power to dismantle.
In the end, the real success might just be in maintaining balance: pushing forward without burning out, breaking down walls without having to rebuild from scratch, and embracing both the highs and lows with equal acceptance. As I continue to navigate this journey, the goal is to keep finding strength in the small victories, the quiet moments with family, and the personal breakthroughs that mark true progress.
